Betty Ann Harmon Baker

Betty Ann Harmon Baker, 83, of Mingus went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 7, surrounded by her family at her home.

A Mass will be at 11:30 a.m Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Strawn. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at St. John’s Catholic Church with a Rosary to follow at 7 p.m.

Betty was born Nov. 25, 1932, to George Lee Harmon and Pernie Cammila Parsons Harmon in Thurber, Texas. She graduated from Gordon High School and soon met the love of her life, William J. Baker; they married Jan. 14, 1949, in Palo Pinto, Texas.

Betty was a member of the Mingus Ladies Club since 1991 and was the Secretary and Treasurer for the Gordon Lions Club; Mayor Protem of Mingus, and was on Gordon’s School Board. She was a caregiver and sat with many ladies and gentlemen when they needed care.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Michael Baker, Sr. of Salem, Oregon; Jerry Patrick Baker of Orlando, Florida; and Michael Baker, Jr. of Strawn, Texas; two daughters, Frankie Elaine Lee, of Mingus, Texas; and Pamela Ann Ezzell of Borger, Texas; one brother, Clarence Wright of Breckenridge; one sister, Sheryl Darlene Moss of Fort Worth; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.
