Virginia C. Ridgeway, 73, died Monday, Aug. 22. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Breckenridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.
Virginia Carolyn Thompson was born on Nov. 9, 1942, in Taylor, Arkansas, to Harold Thompson and Hattie Hall Thompson. She married Bob Ridgeway on Feb. 14, 1983, in Springhill, Louisiana. She was a homemaker and a florist, and member of the People’s Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Ridgeway of Graham; one daughter, Carla Briscoe Hill and husband, John of Breckenridge; one step-daughter, Cheryl Ridgeway of Breckenridge; daughter-in-law, Linda Ridgeway of Durant, Oklahoma; a sister, Maxine Bailey of Camden, Arkansas; brothers, Billy Thompson of Springhill, Louisiana, Roger Thompson of Springhill, Dexter Thompson of Jena, Louisiana, and Dale Thompson of Houston; grandchildren, Ashtyn Elliott of Breckenridge, Laura Pilgrim and husband, Kevin of Abilene, Robert Ridgeway and wife, Tasha of Dennison, and Alicia Pitchford and husband, Scott of Durant, Oklahoma; several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Daryl Ridgeway, one sister, Eva Thompson, and five brothers, Gerald, James, Ray, Glynn, and Benny Thompson.
