Kay Smith, age 61, of Breckenridge, passed away Monday, May 30, after a tragic drowning accident in flood waters. A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Don Bearden officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.
Wanda Kay Glenn was born April 12, 1955, in Breckenridge to parents V.L. Glenn and Ellen Ware Glenn. Kay grew up and attended school in Breckenridge. She married Darrell Smith on Sept. 1, 1996. Kay was a homemaker and enjoyed watching movies and playing games, especially candy crush and hidden object games. She also liked fishing, going to the zoo, camping and dancing on the weekends in her younger years. Kay was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, V.L. and Ellen Glenn.
Kay is survived by her heroic and loving husband, Darrell Smith; two step children, Darrell Smith, Jr. and Leeann Smith; two brothers, Vernon Glenn and wife Susan and Don Glenn and wife Isabel; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
