Charles “Chuck” Haney, age 85 of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22. Per his wishes, Mr. Haney was cremated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.
Charles Edward Haney was born Jan. 2, 1932 in Afton, Texas, to parents Burnett Haney and Lula Mae Hicks Haney. Charles graduated Patton Springs High School. After graduation, Charles served in the United States Navy.
On June 18, 1955, he married Faye Charlene Rainbolt in Clovis, New Mexico. Charles worked as a salesman at S.H. Leggett and United Sales, as well as working for Cawthorn Oil until his retirement in August of 1996. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burnett and Lula Mae Haney; one brother, one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law.
Mr. Haney is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faye Haney; four children, Ronald Haney and wife Ginger of Coppell, Melissa Brannum of Carthage, Kevin Haney of Abilene, Pat Plunkett and husband Donnie of Kermit; one sister, Mary Helen Fleming of Garland; one sister-in-law, Mae Pasquet of Prosper; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
