Frank Andrew Ward

Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Round Timbers Cemetery near Seymour, Texas, with Pastor Winston Roach officiating. Visitation at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26.

Frank A. Ward was born to Austin Andrew and Martha Edna (Wood) Ward on March 23, 1941, in Coalgate, Oklahoma and departed this life in Lawton, Oklahoma on Jan. 22, 2017 at the age of 75 years and 10 months.

Frank came to Walters with his family from Coalgate at the age of 3. He graduated from Walters High School in 1961 and soon began a lifelong career in trucking. He married Edyth Geraldine “Gerry” Brock on January 22, 1968 at Seymour, Texas and to the union two children were born. They made their home at Carnegie, Oklahoma and then in Breckenridge, Texas, where she preceded him in death in 2004. He later married Louise Sparks Teakell on April 11, 2008, at Corum Baptist Church and they have made their home at Walters.

Frank enjoyed his many years of being out on the road. He also enjoyed gardening and just spending time visiting with people.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gerry; his daughter, Tammy Yoes; and a brother, Douglas Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Louise, of the home; a son, Todd Ward, of Breckenridge; a step-daughter, Dana Hilbert and husband Scot, of Walters; a step-son, Robert Sparks, of Lebanon, Ohio; six grandchildren, Lauren Constancio and Colton Ward both of Roby, Texas, Brandon Yoes, Brian Yoes and wife Monique, all of Odessa, Texas, Ryanne and husband Ben Ototivo and Cale Hilbert all of Walters; five great-grandchildren, Cinch, Blakely, Christopher, Elliott and Tinleigh; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Donations can be made to the Cancer Research Center of your choice.
