Dorothy Moreland, 93, went home to be with the Lord on July 6, at Parkwood Assisted Living. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, in Veale Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.
She was born on October 11, 1922, in Breckenridge, to C.J. O’Connor and Vida Chesley O’Connor. She graduated from Breckenridge High School, received her BA from Baylor University 1943 and her Masters from TCU. She lived in Ft. Worth for 70 years. Dorothy taught at numerous elementary schools in the Ft. Worth ISD for 35 years and was a longtime member of Arlington Heights Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son Joe Moreland and wife, Connie; one daughter, Sonja Adams and husband Neal; and five granddaughters, Shayna, Hayley, Whitney, Marti, and Paige.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Moreland.
